Eagle eyed followers of the website may have spotted that on Thursday 15th June 2023 we are promoting not one but two events in London.
The first is our annual curry lunch at the Army and Navy club. This is an enjoyable occasion to which we encourage members to bring guests and partners. The lunch is intentionally less formal than our annual black tie dinner in November.
The 2nd event is a joint SAF Association and Anglo-Omani Society talk, The Key to Peace, to be presented at the AOS premises in Sackville Street, which is a relatively short walk from Pall Mall. Martin Robb, who served in the Muscat Regiment and then as head of the Civil Aid Department in Dhofar, will talk about his experiences running civil aid and its importance in the eventual achievement of peace in the province. The talk will commence at 6pm and will finish at or around 7pm, giving those travelling home time to catch their trains and those staying in London the opportunity to perhaps enjoy an evening meal in town.
