WO PTI Sammy Stubbs

Sad to announce the death of Wakeel Sammy Stubbs SON/RNO 1985-2002; he died unexpectedly at home at the end of March. The highly respected Physical Training Instructor Served first at the Training Centre at Sur putting together the mast manning display for the 1985 Tattoo and later at SBSNB Wudam.

A popular figure throughout Oman golfing circles, he was instrumental in the construction of Wudam Naval Golf Course and a stalwart of the club thereafter. Although not a SAFA member he was a regular supporter of the Association’s East Dorset golf meets.

His funeral took place on 30 April in his small Dorset village surrounded by many friends.
