Brigadier Will Cook - Oman Artillery 1973-75

Updated: Feb 22

We are very sad to report the death of Will Cook in hospital on 19 February. This was sudden, and a devastating shock to family and friends alike.

Will served in Dhofar with the Oman Artillery from 1973 to 1975. Following his tour in Oman he returned to the Gunners, commanding 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery in Germany from 1990-92. His final military posting was as UK National Military Representative at SHAPE from 2002-05. In 2006 he became Defence and Security Adviser to Du Pont Kevlar, finally retiring in 2021.

Will was a loyal supporter of Association and Gunner events and will be missed very much. Our thoughts are with Rosemary, his wife, and their two sons, George and Robert.

The family has not yet announced plans for funeral arrangements.
